Things to do in Lanzarote: plan your days

Start with the decisions that shape a day—time, transport, mobility and advance booking—then compare live options for your trip.

Six useful starting points

Start with the kind of day you want

This is not a ranked “best of” list. Each option is included because it creates a different planning choice. Prices and availability are intentionally left to current official or live supplier information.

  • Volcanic landscape
  • Art/architecture
  • Underground/geology
  • Viewpoints
  • Beach/coast
  • Full-day options

Volcanic landscape

Mountains of Fire

The visitor experience includes geothermal demonstrations and the Route of the Volcanoes bus tour. Protected-area rules mean this is not a free-roaming lava walk.

Art and geology

Jameos del Agua

Allow roughly 60 minutes for the standard visit. The official visitor information flags uneven volcanic-tube levels and mobility constraints, and says pushchairs are not permitted.

Underground visit

Cueva de los Verdes

This visit enters part of the Corona volcanic tunnel. Tickets must be bought online, and the official accessibility guidance warns of major challenges for reduced mobility.

Viewpoint

Mirador del Río

A northern viewpoint on the Risco de Famara, looking towards the Chinijo Archipelago. It can pair naturally with other northern-island stops when transport works for you.

Art and architecture

Fundación César Manrique

The official visitor site is at Taro de Tahíche. Check current opening and ticket information with the foundation before setting your day.

Full-day option

La Graciosa

The island is reached by ferry from Órzola. Treat this as a more involved day and confirm the current operator, timetable and fare before travel.

If you are staying in Puerto del Carmen

Turismo Lanzarote places Puerto del Carmen in the municipality of Tías in the south-central part of the island. Beach and coast options are the most immediate category to compare; for northern or far-southern attractions, check the actual route and return plan before fixing the day. No taxi fare or journey time is assumed here.

If you are staying in Playa Blanca

Official tourism information places Playa Blanca in the south of Lanzarote and the municipality of Yaiza. Beach and coast ideas, including Papagayo, can be grouped into a southern-island day; compare transport for northern viewpoints or underground sites separately. No transfer time or fare is claimed.

Family planning

Do not infer child suitability from an attraction name. The official Jameos del Agua information says pushchairs are not permitted and describes mobility constraints. The official CACT guidance also warns that Cueva de los Verdes presents major challenges for people with reduced mobility. Check the current rules for the exact visitor and product before adding it to a day.

Keep an alternative without making a forecast

When the weather changes

Compare underground/geology and art/architecture ideas with exposed viewpoints, coast and ferry days. A category is only a planning aid: current weather, official operating notices and supplier availability still decide whether a visit works.

Turn ideas into a plan

We’ll retain Lanzarote, without inventing your dates or traveller details. Live availability, prices and booking remain with the experience supplier.

Prepare as you choose

Let the activities shape the packing list

An underground visit, exposed viewpoint and ferry day do not need the same preparation. Start from November conditions, then add the plans you keep.
