Arrivals information, road diversions and pickup arrangements can change while you are in the air. Save the details that will not change before departure, then use a live connection at JFK or Newark to check the parts that can. That combination is more dependable than relying entirely on either an old screenshot or airport Wi-Fi.

Save the essentials before departure

Save your accommodation name, full street address, host or hotel contact, booking confirmation and chosen transfer instructions where they work offline. Screenshot the terminal information when it becomes available and keep the airline’s current arrival details. If your first connection is slow, you can still show an address or find the right meeting point without searching through an inbox.

Use the official airport guidance

JFK

JFK is undergoing major construction and the airport warns that roadway closures can cause reroutes and delays. Check the current advisories after landing rather than relying on an old pickup bay.

Airport Wi-Fi names, pickup areas, fares and journey times can change. Follow airport signage and open the official page after landing rather than relying on an old screenshot or article.

Connect deliberately before onward travel

Stay inside the terminal until the onward plan is loaded. That gives you access to airport help if the travel eSIM needs attention and avoids trying to troubleshoot beside a busy pickup area.

  1. Confirm the correct USA mobile-data line is selected.
  2. Follow the purchased eSIM’s delivered roaming/APN instruction.
  3. Open the official airport advisory and arrival page.
  4. Load the current onward route while connected.
  5. Message your contact only after checking which line will send it.

Offline Google Maps can guide a downloaded driving route, but offline transit, walking and cycling directions are unavailable. Driving also loses live traffic and alternate routes.

  • Accommodation address and contact saved offline.
  • Arrival terminal and booking confirmation saved.
  • Official JFK or Newark advisory page bookmarked.
  • USA line selected for data; Irish line settings checked.
