Pack for your Dubai plans, not just the temperature

Use the season only as context, then pack for the places and activities on your booking. Check a current forecast and operating notices near departure; an old climate table is not a forecast, and a desert destination can still experience rain or disruption.

Climate is context; a forecast is a time-specific check

Dubai has a hot desert climate, but an old climate normal cannot predict the weather for a booked date. The WMO page retrieved during research used a 1974–1991 reference period, so this guide does not relabel its monthly figures as a current baseline or forecast. Use official destination weather guidance for context and check a current forecast close to departure.

Pack by activity and setting

City and indoor plans

Bring layers for air-conditioned interiors and choose clothing appropriate to the actual venue. Venue rules and general preferences are not the same thing.

Beach or pool

Pack the booked venue’s essentials and a change or cover-up for moving between settings. Do not generalise one venue’s dress rules to all Dubai.

Business

Confirm workplace or event dress expectations, meeting access and the calling method before departure.

Outdoor or organised excursion

Follow the provider’s current kit, footwear and weather guidance and ask the insurer whether the booked activity is covered.

Keep family essentials independent

Distribute medicines, documents, charging cables and offline details according to the airline’s rules and the needs of the group. Do not place every essential on one phone or in one checked bag. Use broad age or activity needs without storing children’s names or health details in the checklist.

Recheck near departure

Check the forecast, Department advice, airline operational notice and booked venue or excursion guidance. Rain is less frequent than heat, but the Department notes that heavy rain can cause disruption; that is a reason to check current information, not to publish an invented probability or alarmist prediction.
